This was not just a movie, it was a story of the USA's longtime fear of Russia. While the movie is not based on a true story, and was simply a fiction, it depicted the longtime battle of USA versus Russia. Rocky Balboa, retiring after a tough career in boxing, settles in with his family. His best friend, Apollo Creed, sets up an exhibition with an unknown Russian, Ivan Drago. This simple "exibition" goes way wrong, as Drago pummels Creed all match, and eventually kills him with one final, fatal blow to the head. In an act of revenge, Balboa challenges the Russian, in his own homeland of Siberia, but there is a catch: if he loses, he loses everything, including his home. This is where the story begins, and this is where in inspirations begins. Throughout the rest of the movie up until right before this final match, they show the Russian training in a finely regemented and scientific endevour, while Rocky trains out in the snow of Siberia, cutting wood and running up mountians. In the end, under great odds, Rocky Balboa knocks the Russian to the campus after being pummeled by Drago all match. The Russian crowd quickly begins to chant the name Rocky, which is one of the more moving and ironic parts of the movie, and Balboa then leaves us with some inspirational words for all: "Tonight you had two people killing eachother...but I guess that's better than 20 million". "If I can change and if you can change...everyone can change."
